Helen is a Senior Partner at MOORE Malta with a focus on identifying opportunities that would continue to contribute to the growth and development of the firm. With over 40 years of post-qualification experience, Helen has gained an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the issues and challenges that industries face. Aside from being a lecturer for over twenty years, Helen has accomplished various milestones throughout her career pertaining to the accountancy profession. These include representing Malta within the EU on matters covering the implementation into domestic law of EU Accounting Directives, forming part of a government-appointed commission tasked with making amendments to taxation laws in Malta, and being appointed by the Minster of Education as a technical member of the Malta Examination Board to assess competencies of persons seeking careers as accounting technicians. Furthermore, Helen has served as a member of sub-committees, namely The Small Company’s Reporting Ad-Hoc Committee and the Ethics Committee, both of which were formed by the Malta Institute of Accountants. Most notably, Helen was the first woman to be appointed as a member of the Accountancy Board - the authority that regulates the accountancy profession in Malta - which is entrusted with giving recommendations to the Ministry of Finance. During her time at the Accountancy Board, Helen was chairperson of the Disciplinary Board, a sub-committee that oversees cases leading to the suspension or withdrawal of warrants and practicing certificates.
